The Role
Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine is seeking an Unaccredited Neurosurgical Registrar to provide clinical and surgical services and contribute to the development of the unit.
The successful candidate will be employed by MQ Health, with the training provided by Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine, located on campus. Whilst this full-time position is not a position recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) for training, it will provide the successful candidate with an outstanding opportunity to experience neurosurgery in a private university hospital and academic health science centre. The candidate will also actively participate in the weekly education and academic meetings. In addition the successful candidate will attend outreach clinics at various locations in regional New South Wales.

Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine
Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine is one of Australia’s largest Academic Neurosurgical groups, producing over 1000 academic works, cited over 15,000 times. We have 10 of Australia’s leading neurosurgeons, actively involved in research, and teaching future neurosurgeons for Australia and internationally.
Our patient centred approach includes weekly Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, harnessing the intellectual capability and expertise of cross functional teams. Bringing together neurosurgeons, neurologists, interventional neuroradiologists, pain specialists, oncologists, orthopaedics surgeons, ENT specialists as the team manage complex conditions and more routine disorders to provide patients with the best possible medical care.
About You
You will be an aspiring Neurosurgeon who is committed to clinical care, education and research. You will be keen to work in an innovative multidisciplinary environment and be passionate about providing exceptional patient centred care.
You will have experience working within busy inpatient settings while balancing supervision, teaching and mentoring of junior staff and medical students.
